New York Fashion Week 2018

On February 7th 2018, New York time, Li-Ning---as the first Chinese sports brand to board the 2018 New York Fashion Week, appeared in Skylight Modern, Manhattan, New York.
Li-Ning's design team said that their original intentions are: Chinese culture + sports perspective +Fashion trend. As for Chinese culture, they use the Chinese classical theory "Tao" as the foundation and to do the design with the spirit of “Essence (悟道)”.
Therefore, Li-Ning chooses "Essence (悟道)" as the theme of this show. The show is divided into two sessions, the first is "Essence (悟道) From The Heart", and the second is "Essence (悟道) From The Appearance".
"Essence (悟道) From The Heart", inspired by traditional Chinese culture named “天人合一”, means combining sports with traditional Chinese culture and retro trends. It’s aim is to reproduce the retro trend of 1990s in which Li-Ning lead the Chinese sports fashion.
For example: Li-Ning not only follows the classical "tomato eggs" color (red and yellow color), restores Li Ning's first Olympic award-winning suit VICTOR001, but also stamping the Chinese characters “中国李宁” onto the backs and fronts of many jackets and sweatshirts. This square font brings out a friendly sense of time. In addition, Li-Ning creatively uses the photos of brand's founder Mr. Li Ning to make photo printing Tee. All of this has strongly inspired people’s nostalgia from the heart.
Putting "street style", "mix & match philosophy" and "futurism" as the key words, "Essence (悟道) From The Appearance" realizes the convergence of ancient and modern, middle and west, virtual and real, function and trend. For this, Li-Ning makes creative changes and progress in products’ appearance. And these changes endow the new vitality to the Li-Ning’s products, also leaves more imagination space for the New York Fashion Week and the future trends of Chinese sports. It ultimately expresses the "inclusiveness" of Chinese philosophy.
In this show, except the regular red and yellow color, Li-Ning also creatively designs some sports jacket which made by black and silver reflective material . In addition, the Dad-shoes and various bags appeared in the show are also very eye-catching.
In this NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, Li-Ning, with the theme of “Essence (悟道)”, adheres to the spirit connotation of “introspection, self-enlightment, and self-initiation”. It expresses it’s understanding of Chinese traditional culture and modern fashion in the sports perspective. Moreover, in this show, Li-Ning perfectly reflected the retro style in the 1990s, practical streetism at now and the trends of sports in the future.
All in all, at NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, Li-Ning shows the world it’s attitude of original design and influence of fashion.
